Maximize unit re-chartering percentage in each district.

 

Illowa Council Commissioners’ Strategic Objectives & Goals

 

Objective I: We will monitor every unit’s health on a monthly basis.

           

            Strategies to Achieve the Objective:

  • Make contact with leaders at unit committee meetings at least every 60 days.
  • Make contact with leaders at youth meetings at least every 60 days.
  • Make contact with unit leaders away from meetings via 2-way communication.

 

Specific Goals:

  1. Commissioners must make contact with leaders of assigned units a minimum of 9 months per year.
  2. Anticipate problems to be proactive. [Monthly]
  3. Know committee and unit leader succession via Unit Assessment Tool. [Annually]
  4. Promote outdoor activities and field trips. [Monthly]
  5. Promote and educate unit financial health and budget planning. [Annually]

 

 Objective II: Promote relationships with all adults.

 

            Strategies to Achieve the Objective:

  • Promote unit leader training, including team building via utilizing C.O.P.E. course.
  • Charter partner recognition and relationship building via advising at Unit Key 3 meetings.

 

Specific Goals:

  1. Plan youth recruiting dates with units. [Spring and Fall]
  2. Identify adult resources via Adult Surveys when recruiting youth. [Spring and Fall]
  3. Promote unit leader training including Roundtables and annual use of C.O.P.E. course. [Monthly]
  4. Invite charter partner to all unit activities via advising at Unit Key 3 meetings. [Quarterly]
  5. Provide Lifesaving team of commissioners, district committee and executives. [if needed]
