Questions about Training?

Contact your Training Committee Chair Wes Unke at 563-242-3475 or email boyscoutpack140@gmail.com

Adult leaders in units are considered trained, and eligible to wear the official Trained emblem, once they have completed Youth Protection Training and the training courses outlined below, or have completed Youth Protection Training and a previous basic training course when it was current.

Youth Protection Training is a joining requirement for all registered adults and must be retaken every two years!

Set up your MyScouting account

You now can get the training you need to be a great leader from the comfort of your own home via online training.

The BSA's Online Training Website is: MyScouting.org

You've already taken the first step by expressing interest in getting trained! The second step is to visit MyScouting.org and create yourself an account- don't forget to enter your Scouting Member Number into your account, this will automatically link the courses you took online to your Scouting Profile at the Scout Service Center. If you don't have a Scouting Member number right now- that's ok- you can always edit your profile and add it later. See below for the MyScouting Account Set-up Tutorial if you need some help. Don't forget to note your username and password somewhere safe so you don't forget it!

Once you are logged into My Scouting, you'll see the BSA e-Learning link on the left side of the screen. The BSA e-learning site is a GREAT place to begin your Scout training. You'll see many trainings that are available, including some that may be required for you to be considered a Trained Leader in your registered position.

Another neat feature of the MyScouting site is the Training Validation Link. Through that link you can check on other Scout Leaders and see if they have done thier basic training! Together, we'll make sure that all our Scouting Leader are trained in their positions so they have the tools to offer a great program to our Scouts!

If you have questions about this or other training questions contact your District Training Chair.  Thanks for all you do in Scouting!
