BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation)
OWL (Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders)

Friday & Saturday - September 5-6, 2014
at Camp Loud Thunder

Cub Scout packs are permitted to conduct a pack campout (overnight) activity, as long as the activity is conducted at a council-approved location and is under the direction of a leader in the pack trained to do so. The training course to prepare these leaders is called Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO, for short).

BALOO and OWL training will help ALL Cub Scout parents and leaders to ‘BE PREPARED’ for introducing young Scouts to the world of overnight camping. This training fulfills the requirements needed by your Pack or Webelos Den to conduct overnight outings.

This combined course provides BOTH the basic training as well as the Webelos instruction and involves lengthy sessions to cover all material.

Cost is $15.00 and includes materials for the course and Saturday meals. Course begins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, with set-up starting at 5:00 at Warclub campsite. Training will conclude at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.  Evening sessions will run late on Friday and overnight camping is required.

Please bring a completed Health Form (parts A & B), a tent, sleeping gear, overnight personal items, and a water bottle.
