BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation)
OWL (Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders)
April 8 - 9, 2016
Cub Scout packs are permitted to conduct a pack campout (overnight) activity, as long as the activity is conducted at a council-approved location and is under the direction of a leader in the pack trained to do so. The training course to prepare these leaders is called Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO, for short).
BALOO and OWL training will help ALL Cub Scout parents and leaders to ‘BE PREPARED’ for introducing young Scouts to the world of overnight camping. This training fulfills the requirements needed by your Pack or Webelos Den to conduct overnight outings.
This combined course provides BOTH the basic training as well as the Webelos instruction and involves lengthy sessions to cover all material.
You should attend if:
➢ You are a Cubmaster, Asst. Cubmaster, Webelos Den Leader, Bear Den Leader
➢ You work with Cub Scouts in the outdoors
➢ You are a parent planning to take part in Cub Scout camping activities
Cost is $15 and includes all materials for the course, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday.
Arrive Friday by 5:00 p.m. for set up. Course concludes at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Course is limited to 25 participants with a minimum of 15 required to hold the course.
Registration for this training is now closed. Please check back for future dates.
