Internet Advancement
Overview
Internet Advancement is available to unit key three members (Unit Leader, Chartered Organization Representative, and Committee Chair) via my.Scouting.org or at http://advancements.scouting.org.
The unit assigns a member of the committee, known as the “Unit Advancement Chair”, to record advancements. A member of the unit’s Key3 (unit leader, committee chair, or charter organization representative) then accesses the Organization Security Manager in my.Scouting and assigns them the Functional Position of Unit Advancement Chair.
Units will also be able to print reports various reports, including:
- Unit Roster showing active youth and adult leaders
- Unit Advancement Summary shows ranks, merit badges, and awards saved in each person record for current members of the unit.
- Advancement Report lists each youth member that has new ranks, merit badges, and awards. This is the official Unit Advancement Report to be signed and submitted to either Scout Shop or Marriott Scout Service Center.
- Unit Awards Summary lists the number of new ranks, merit badges, and awards by name as a shopping list.
- Advancement Update Summary lists any ranks, merit badges, and awards that were already in the member record and were updated online.
- Generate an Eagle Scout Rank Application for any Life Scout with all of the merit badges and boards of review dates filled in.
Internet Advancement writes to the Scoutbook database so anything approved will instantly show up in Scoutbook (and visa versa.) Also all records are sync’d with the council records automatically within 48 hours.
