Climb to new heights!
WHO: Scouters 16 and older who are willing and able to engage in vigorous physical activity. Scouts under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
WHEN: Septempber 13-15, 2024
- Participation is required all three days for registrants to earn their training card.
WHERE: Camp Loud Thunder, 9906 175th St W, Illinois City, IL (Friday & Saturday), and Mississippi Palisades State Park (Sunday)
COST: $80 per person. Includes: Course materials, all Saturday meals, and Sunday breakfast and lunch
START TIME: Check in starts Friday at 6:30pm; Course begins promptly at 7:00pm
END TIME: 5:00pm on Sunday

About this Course
Troops wanting to do Climbing or Rappelling as part of the unit’s program MUST have at least one adult who has completed this training. Climbing activities have the capacity for accident and injury, which makes it vital for a facilitator to learn the techniques that are within Scouting America’s guidelines and are SAFE!
PACKING LIST:
- Completed Annual Medical Health Form Parts A & B
- Sleeping Bag
- Personal Hygiene Items
- Indoor Sleeping Gear
- Loose-fitting, Long Clothing (but not baggy). Clothes need to allow for ample movement.
- Closed-toe, Sturdy footwear
- Dress for the Weather – This course will be held rain or shine unless the Director feels safety is compromised.
- Climbing Gear is provided

Upon successful registration, you will receive an email confirmation including a link to the Climbing Instructor Training Survey. This Survey needs to be completed and brought with you to check in.
