Welcome to the Illowa Council!

We are proud to serve more than 2,600 youth who participate in Scouting in Bureau, Henry, Knox, McDonough, Mercer, Rock Island, Stark, and Warren counties in Illinois and Cedar, Clinton, Jackson, Muscatine, and Scott counties in Iowa. These 13 counties make up the Illowa Council!

Scouting has been shaping the youth of America for more than 100 years. Scouting does AMAZING things for youth.  Scouts try new things, serve others, boost self-confidence, make ethical choices, and explore the outdoors.  Besides being super-fun, Scouts say it helps them be more honest, teaches them to better work with others, guides them into becoming better team players and leaders, and provides life-long skills.  Prepared.  For Life.

Fall recruitment is right around the corner! Please contact your scout's school and consider volunteering at the unpack the backpack event! Your point of contact may be the principle or PTA of your local elementary school.

These events are one of the best opportunities to showcase the civic work that our units do for our communities. Successful unpack the backpack table should include:

1. 1-2 adult leaders in uniform.
2. Fall pack schedule with first pack meeting highlighted.
3. Photos of previous events, pinewood derby, blue and gold, campouts…
4. Unit Flag and US Flag.
5. Youth & Adult Application forms.

We will be discussing recruitment and the NEW recharter system on July 27, 10AM at the Moline Public Library. Registration is free but we would like to know how many people we need to set up the room for. Please register here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSez7yMnNvfplchN3SvrLohfZEcqcFfEC2OMdGq9oJJaA1yO_w/viewform.
