Do you know an exceptional Illowa Council Adult Volunteer? The Silver Beaver Award is a council-level award given by the Boy Scouts of America to adult leaders who have demonstrated exceptional service to the organization and the community.

Show off your Scout skills at this year’s Klondike! Scouts will brave the elements to develop patrol spirit and teamwork as they travel around Rock Creek. Remember that this event will be cold and probably snowy… dress for the conditions and BE PREPARED.

The NRA Range Safety Officer program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. NRA Range Safety Officers are the people who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

The USA Archery Level 1 Instructor will learn about range safety and setup, the steps of shooting, equipment and repair, programs and lesson plans, and is well prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities in a variety of disciplines.

Scouts BSA and Venturers can join us at Camp Loud Thunder to learn about wilderness survival in cold weather! We’ll be learning how to build a shelter (that you can sleep in overnight if you choose to!), fire starting, first aid, and more!

If you’ve successfully taken the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course and want to dive deeper into your ability to teach others how to properly and safely use pistols, this course is for you!

Troops wanting to do Climbing & Rappelling as part of the unit program must have at least one adult who has completed this training. Come learn the techniques that are within Scouting America’s guidelines and that are safe!

Time to team up with the Quad City Steamwheelers for Scout Night! Join us at the Vibrant Arena at The Mark for a night of arena football and FUN as the Steamwheelers take on the Jacksonville Sharks!

Join Illowa Council and Crawford Brew Works for the Pintwood Derby! This is an adults only event where you can race a car, enjoy some local craft beer, and have a great time – all while supporting Scouts on a local level!

The Annual Scouting Clays Classic, set for August 16-17, 2024, supports over 4,000 youth and leaders in Scouting through events like shooting competitions, auctions, and dinners. This significant fundraiser, having raised $1 million to date, offers diverse participation options, from shooting teams to attending as a guest. Contact details and registration links are provided, with a special emphasis on a 3-Gun Drawing, where tickets are available for purchase to win firearms.

Wood Badge is an advanced, national leadership course open only to Scouting volunteers and professionals.

Scouters from Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, and Explorers, and district and council Scouters all are welcome and belong here. This course will help you better understand how all the Scouting programs tie together. It will provide you with many useful leadership tools to help enable our youth to have the best possible Scouting experience. There is no better time to attend a Wood Badge course and make a difference in your unit than when you are a Cub Scout Leader.
