WHO: Scouters and Non-Scouters, 21 years and Older

COST: $50

  • Fees include course materials, exam, and certification
  • Registrants who pass the course will incur an additional fee for NRA Certification

About this Course

The NRA Range Safety Officer program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. NRA RSO’s are people who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

This course does not encompass the functions and responsibilities of a Range Officer who conducts NRA competitive shooting events as defined by Rule 11.5 of the NRA Rule Book.

You will learn:

  • Range Safety Officer’s Roles & Responsibilities
  • Range Standard Operating Procedures
  • Range Inspection
  • Range Rules
  • Firearm Stoppages and Malfunctions
  • Range Safety Briefings
  • Emergency Procedures

Candidates must receive 90% or better on the written exam to become certified.
